Basic instructions for installing a squid scale
Tools
You will need T6 (for rear screws) and T8 (for pivot screw) torx head bits:
Unscrew the pivot screw and two rear spacer screws to disassemble the knife.
Reassembly
It will be easier to reassemble the knife if you put the pivot bolt in from the opposite side and prop it up with something to keep it from falling out:
Reassemble the knife flat with the blade opened and the rear spacer aligned with the holes:
Put the rear screws thru the scale and lay it on top of the knife, aligning the screws thru the rear spacer:
Start the pivot screw and rear screws threading but do not snug them down until they are all in, then slowly snug them while checking for alignment. Do not over tighten, they just need to be snug enough to secure the scale.
Adjust the tightness of the pivot screw get the blade centered when knife is closed. Test the action and adjust pivot tension as needed.
